Sights in South Tyrol to discover during your holiday
Reach destinations all over South Tyrol easily from our hotel
Most sights in South Tyrol can be reached in no time from our Hotel Steger-Dellai. At the same time your holiday home - the fantastic high plain - already is one of the sights in South Tyrol. Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm is a nature preserve, the largest high plain in Central Europe and enlisted as UNESCO World Natural Heritage - 3 sights in one in South Tyrol!
What's more, Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm is the ideal destination to reach the various sights in South Tyrol. You are in no time in Bolzano / Bozen where you find a mixture of typical Italian and alpine charm as well as the legendary Ice Man Ötzi. Not far from Bolzano/Bozen thrones the impressive Messner Mountain Museum in Firmiano/Firmian.
A little farther away lies the spa town Merano / Meran - the visit to the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle makes the drive well worthwhile. Also the town of Bressanone / Brixen with its cathedral, and the Isarco/Eisack valley with its characteristic apple orchards and vineyards, are easily reachable from Siusi / Seis and a real highlight for true gourmets.
Also the Sciliar / Schlern region offers popular sights in South Tyrol: we recommend you a visit to the Presule / Prösels castle or the Hauenstein fortress. Today it is a ruin, but once upon a time it was owned by the famous South Tyrolean minnesinger Oswald von Wolkenstein.
